Corn Oil Recovery

The corn oil extraction process in dry-grind ethanol plants involves sending the evaporator syrup stream to a centrifuge that separates oil from the syrup. This extracted oil is a value-added co-product that can be an attractive new revenue source, but extraction systems often recover corn oil far below forecasted levels, making the return on capital invested in mechanical systems less attractive.

As part of our continued efforts to solve process challenges for ethanol producers, Nalco Water has developed an offering that captures up to three times more corn oil during the extraction process and increases the overall quality of the yield. Nalco Water on-site experts will apply their technical knowledge of ethanol process systems by performing a product optimization trial, ensuring you maximize system efficiency and product quality.

This GRAS-certified, patent-pending product is a cost-effective option that requires no additional capital investment and, unlike other treatment options that include increasing heat to reduce viscosity, will not increase energy consumption and costs.
